A Brief History

The Early Days
Otis A. Windsor and employees assembling Hubbell wiring devices.   Late 1930's, early 1940's.

Otis A. Windsor was a Businessman, Engineer, Inventor and holder of several U.S. Patents.  Old friend Harvey Hubbell needed a rugged outlet box to house his wiring devices for use in California's growing aircraft manufacturing industry.  With Harvey's inspiration, Otis designed, patented and began manufacturing a variety of versatile rubber outlet boxes.  Eighty years later many, with only small modifications, are still in production. Many of O.A.'s original designs have been copied by all our competitors.
